Our Mission

"The Laughter Mission Society provides support to people with life-limiting illness and/or their caregivers through culturally-diverse comedic entertainment. Our service provides professional performers to non-profit healthcare organizations. Our goal is to improve quality of life through laughter because humour helps."

Care-giving organizations generally operate on very tight budgets and often cannot even afford honorariums for entertainers. Vancouver entertainers, who witness first-hand the innumerable positive benefits of laughter on the sick and how it promotes well being, regularly perform at numerous charity benefits and care-facilities, but unfortunately cannot always say "yes" to these worthy causes.

Laughter Mission Society's mission is to bridge this gap by:

  1. Providing comedic entertainment and soul enriching experiences that are culturally diverse for the sick, terminally ill and their care givers;
  2. Providing life skills and other learning opportunities via power of laughter workshops to charitable societies that deal with social and healthcare-related issues; and
  3. Producing educational events that raise funds for societies and non-profit organizations that support and benefit the sick and terminally ill.
